garden of eden, lucas kansas

The Garden of Eden in Lucas, Kansas is a sculpture park created by Samuel P. Dinsmoor(1843-1932). He began the park in 1905 after retiring as a teacher and spent the rest of his life creating the "garden" which has over 200 sculptures -- most of which are linked together. The ten room cabin he built was actually made from sculptured limestone logs. It was surprising at how well preserved the concrete sculptures were after almost 90 years. During a visit in 2005 to this park I took the photos below.
